Services in detail
Owners and property managers must ensure that paths and access routes are safe to walk on in snow and ice. Many municipalities also transfer the duty to clear and grit public pavements to the adjacent property owners.
You can transfer this duty to us by contract. To do so, we agree in advance which areas we clear and grit, and in what order.
A clear demarcation is important: which areas are part of the contract, which does the municipality clear, and which paths have lower priority? We record these points in a site plan, which you receive before the season starts. That way, everyone involved can see what we are responsible for.
Snow clearance and gritting
- Public pavements in front of the property, where this is your duty under local by-laws
- Access routes, entrances and outdoor steps
- Driveways, car parks and courtyards
- Re-gritting if icy conditions persist
Gritting materials
- Use suited to the surface and local regulations
- Many municipalities restrict the use of road salt on pavements. We follow the applicable local by-laws.
Organisation
- Site plan with priorities
- Weather monitoring during the season
- Documentation of call-outs on request
Typical intervals and service times
Times and season, in general:
- Clearing and gritting times are set by your municipality’s by-laws and usually apply on working days from early morning until the evening, often starting somewhat later on Sundays and public holidays
- The season usually runs from November to March; we agree the contract period with you
- If snowfall or icy conditions persist, the call-out is repeated
We agree the exact intervals with you after the site visit.
